The first thing to know about Grassy Hill Hustle Hello Kitty Island Adventure is where it starts. Grassy Hill Hustle is a timed Challenge Course in Seaside Resort, and the official wiki lists its starting point as the hilltop cliff west of Resort Cabin #5. Step on the start button, collect every Athlete Coin before the timer runs out, and you earn Bronze within 25 seconds, Silver within 14 seconds or Gold within 9 seconds.
This guide reflects the official Hello Kitty Island Adventure Wiki and Sunblink's update notes as of October 16, 2026, after the free version 3.0 Welcome Home update that reached every platform on October 8, 2026. Course times, rewards and map details can change between patches and can differ by platform, so treat the numbers here as the documented values rather than a promise.
01
Where Grassy Hill Hustle is on the map
The Hello Kitty Island Adventure Grassy Hill Hustle location is in Seaside Resort, the beach-themed region in the south of the Friendship Island map. It is the first zone you unlock and the place you land after the opening Airplane sequence. On the wiki's course map, Grassy Hill Hustle is number 3 of the seven Seaside Resort courses.
That hilltop cliff west of Resort Cabin #5 is the only text landmark the wiki gives. The exact spot is otherwise shown on a map image and a route image, so this guide can't add turn-by-turn directions without guessing. The wiki also doesn't say which fast travel mailbox is closest.
Here is what you can do in-game to find it:
- Use the Cabins filter. The Map app on the Menu Tablet has a Cabins filter that shows the cabins you have unlocked in each region. If Resort Cabin #5 is on your map, head there and look for the cliff on its west side.
- Drop a marker. You can place one of 20 marker shapes on any non-fast-travel spot, and markers also show on your mini-map, which helps you stay on course while you walk.
- Look for the flagpole. In most regions, a course's start button is marked with a flagpole. After you finish a course, the pole flies a flag in the color of the highest tier you've beaten, and a gold flag adds a white circle with a gold flower in the center.
One access note: the wiki says some Seaside Resort courses need the Flippers, which come from the "Power Up the Gate" and "Finding Flippers" quests. It doesn't say which courses those are. If you can't reach the start on foot, unlocking Flippers is the first thing to check. For how the regions connect and how fast travel works, see the Friendship Island map guide.
02
How the course and timer work
Every Challenge Course works the same way. Step on the button at the start, and Athlete Coins appear along the route. You complete the course by collecting every coin within the time limit. If the clock runs out before you have them all, the run doesn't count.
The full length of the timer bar is the Bronze time. The bar starts in the Gold zone, switches to Silver at the first mark, then to Bronze at the next mark. For Grassy Hill Hustle the whole bar is 25 seconds, so the tiers look like this:
| Tier | Finish the run within | Time left on the 25-second clock |
|---|---|---|
| Bronze | 25 seconds | Any time left |
| Silver | 14 seconds | 11 seconds or more |
| Gold | 9 seconds | 16 seconds or more |
The wiki notes that finishing inside the Gold limit generally takes active Companion Abilities and/or Potions, and that a multiplayer friend can help a lot. A 9-second Gold window leaves very little room for a missed jump.

Rewards: trophy pieces, Sparkles and achievements
Seaside Trophy Pieces. The first time you beat each tier, you win a matching Bronze, Silver or Gold Seaside Trophy Piece. Each course gives each type of piece only once. If your very first clear is Gold, you can win all three pieces in that single run. The first piece of a tier also gives you the Crafting Plans for that tier's trophy.
Seaside Trophies. Each Seaside Trophy (Bronze, Silver or Gold) costs 7 matching pieces, one from each of the seven Seaside Resort courses. So Grassy Hill Hustle alone can't finish a trophy; you need every course in the region at that tier. The trophies are Rare trophy items with the Sports tag.
Sparkles. Courses always reward Sparkles: one for each tier you complete, so a Gold run pays 3. You can replay the course after you've won every piece. You can trade Sparkles to Pochacco for Game Tickets, at 25 Sparkles per ticket.
Achievements. Course achievements only need the Bronze time:
- Grassy Hill Hustle, in the Challenge Courses achievements: "Beat the Bronze Time for Grassy Hill Hustle." The wiki lists it on Apple Arcade, Steam, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation.
- Tropical Challenge, in Explorer Goals: complete all seven Seaside Resort courses for 25 Sand Dollars.
Trophies matter for visitors too. The Island Visitor Lou needs one Island Challenge Trophy of any type, so finishing the Seaside set is a direct route to that requirement. The visitors guide covers Island Visitors in more detail.

Tips for a Gold time
The wiki's general challenge course tips all apply here:
- Pompompurin's Slow & Steady adds 5 extra seconds on top of the normal maximum. That sounds small, but against a 9-second Gold target it makes a real difference.
- Pompompurin's Pudding Pants boosts your jumps, which the wiki calls especially useful on courses with many hills.
- Pochacco's Speed Walker helps on land courses. His Relay ability also lets him help collect coins, though he can't finish a course without you.
- Pekkle's Speed Climber helps if a course involves a lot of climbing.
- Potions can stack with a companion ability, but you can't drink a Potion for a buff your companion already gives you.
It also helps to learn the coin order on Bronze or Silver runs first, since replays still pay Sparkles, then go for Gold once you know the route. Because the flag on the start pole shows your best tier, you can tell at a glance whether this course still owes you a piece.
05
Grassy Hill Hustle in multiplayer
Grassy Hill Hustle also shows up in the multiplayer Friendship Tasks. The Level 4 task asks both players to "Complete Bronze tier of Grassy Hill Hustle," next to collecting 5 Sticks and taking a selfie with a mailbox. For course tasks, each player has to collect at least one Athlete Coin during the same run. A higher tier still counts, so a Gold clear also covers the Bronze task.
Co-op makes the course itself easier as well. The wiki suggests having the second player start from the middle or end of the route, so the two of you sweep the coins from both directions. The guest never receives Trophy Pieces, but otherwise earns the same prizes as the host. If you want the pieces, the player who needs them should host. See the multiplayer guide for more on playing together.

How it compares with other Seaside Resort courses
Seaside Resort has seven courses, and all of them feed the same Seaside Trophies and the Tropical Challenge goal. Grassy Hill Hustle's 25-second Bronze limit is one of the shorter ones in the region, and only Sandbar Dart has a tighter Gold time:
| Course | Starting location (wiki description) | Bronze | Silver | Gold |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Visitor Island Chase | Home Island, east of Resort Cabin #8 | 26s | 16s | 10s |
| Resort Roundabout | By the pond south of Resort Cabin #4 | 30s | 23s | 19s |
| Grassy Hill Hustle | Hilltop cliff west of Resort Cabin #5 | 25s | 14s | 9s |
| Sandbar Dart | South of the Resort Gate mailbox | 20s | 14s | 7s |
| Seashore Sprint | Southern beach at the tip of a peninsula | 25s | 17s | 11s |
| Small Island Shuffle | Hopscotch Islands, beach east of the mailbox | 40s | 29s | 19s |
| Moon Island Marathon | Islet southwest of the Moon Island mailbox | 30s | 21s | 14s |
Other regions have their own sets and trophies. The wiki lists 7 courses in Spooky Swamp, 10 in Gemstone Mountain and 6 each in Mount Hothead, Rainbow Reef, Merry Meadow, Cloud Island and Icy Peak, plus 4 on The Moon. The City Town DLC adds 6 courses, and Wheatflour Wonderland has 9 Training Courses that use Wheatflour Tokens instead of Athlete Coins. Each Explorer Goals region challenge rewards a stack of that region's material, such as Seashells for Rainbow Reef or Mushrooms for Spooky Swamp.
Seaside Resort is the natural place to learn courses, because it's where your adventure starts. If you're still early in the game, the beginner's guide is a good next stop.

Quick answers
Do I need Gold for the achievement? No. The Grassy Hill Hustle achievement and the Tropical Challenge goal only need the Bronze time.
Why didn't I get a trophy piece? Each tier's piece drops only once per course. If you already beat that tier, a repeat run pays Sparkles but no new piece. Multiplayer guests never receive pieces.
Can I farm it? You can replay it as often as you like for Sparkles, up to 3 per Gold run. The wiki doesn't list any other repeat rewards.
