The Hello Kitty Island Adventure map is Friendship Island, an old theme park split into regions you open one at a time. You start in Seaside Resort in the south, then unlock Spooky Swamp to the east, Gemstone Mountain to the north, Mount Hothead to the northwest and Icy Peak in the far north. Rainbow Reef sits underwater, Merry Meadow hides behind the Oasis waterfall, and Cloud Island and The Moon float above it all. The City Town and Wheatflour Wonderland expansions add areas reached by boat and through a magic portal, and fast travel mailboxes link everything together.

This page reflects the official Hello Kitty Island Adventure Wiki and Sunblink's notes as of October 16, 2026, after the free version 3.0 Welcome Home update released on all platforms on October 8, 2026. Quest requirements can shift between versions and platforms, and the DLC areas are included with Apple Arcade but sold separately on Switch, Steam and PlayStation. Later regions are named here, so expect light spoilers.

01

How Friendship Island fits together

The wiki describes the island as one big park, called Big Adventures Park, that runs from the depths of the ocean to the top of the volcano. The main regions are joined by a path that winds over sandy beaches. It starts in Seaside Resort, runs through Spooky Swamp, winds below Gemstone Mountain and finally reaches Mount Hothead over a stone bridge.

There are also several smaller islands. Moon Island, the Hopscotch Islands and Home Island all count as parts of Seaside Resort, and each has its own fast travel mailbox. Underwater, Rainbow Reef covers the middle of the map once you can dive. Higher up, Cloud Island floats in the sky above Moon Island, and The Moon sits far above the island in space. The wiki lists nine regions on Friendship Island, with City Town and Wheatflour Wonderland listed separately as DLC.

Cloud IslandIn the sky above Moon Island"Stargazing" (Hello Kitty), after "A Challenging Rescue" and "Baker's Assistant"; the portal is near Moon Island
The MoonIn space"This Tall to Ride" (Big Challenges), one day after "Where It All Began"

Tea Garden (DLC)Merry Meadow, southeast of the Merry Meadows Fields mailbox"Secrets & Scones", after "Curiouser and Curiouser"; needs the Tea Garden DLC or Apple Arcade

The big early unlock is "Power Up the Gate." Once the gate opens, most land areas can be reached just by exploring, and the wiki notes that ziplines and extra stamina make that easier. Water areas need tools. The quest guide has more on these quests.

A few landmarks are worth knowing. Seaside Resort holds the shops around Resort Plaza, including My Melody's Small Gift Big Smile and the Hello Kitty Cafe. Spooky Swamp has Kuromi's Witch's Hut, the Hedge Maze, the Haunted Mansion and the Ghost Tour Ride. Gemstone Mountain is the Old West-themed area with Gemstone Town, the Dance Hall and the Crystal Caves. Mount Hothead has the Red Hot Ruins and the Hot Springs. Hangyodon tells jokes at Rainbow Reef's Comedy Club, and the LittleTwinStars keep a hideout on The Moon. If you're working through every course, the Grassy Hill Hustle guide explains how Challenge Courses and trophies work.

04

DLC areas: City Town, Wheatflour Wonderland and Tea Garden

City Town is the only region of Imagination Island, a second island completely separate from Friendship Island that you reach by boat. The wiki notes that the Imagination Island name isn't officially confirmed in the game. It's a rainbow city built around the Imagination Cafe, where Usahana helps run things. Getting around takes a lot of climbing: pipes on the sides of buildings, elevator shafts up to the shopping center roof, and air vents above AC Units that you switch on with levers.

Wheatflour Wonderland opens through a magical door in the Hello Kitty Cafe. It has three tiers, each unlocked through story quests. Tier 2 needs two Magic Wands of different colors to change the lampposts beside the Grand Flowl Durum, and Tier 3 needs a Flockadoodler Critter Wand to use a Critter Launchpad.

Tea Garden is a themed content pack rather than a new region. Its garden party area sits in Merry Meadow, and extra decorated areas appear around the Meadow during its quests. The DLC guide covers the paid packs in more detail.

How fast travel works

Hello Kitty Island Adventure map fast travel unlocks with the "Delivery Service" quest, which Kuromi offers at friendship level 1. She meets you by a fast travel mailbox in Spooky Swamp and asks you to activate it. You then walk a Pumpkin to My Melody at Small Gift Big Smile, activate the Resort Plaza mailbox with Cinnamoroll, and teleport back to Spooky Swamp with a gift for Kuromi.

After that, you can teleport from any activated fast travel mailbox or from the Map app on your Menu Tablet. Stops you haven't found yet show as question marks in the Map's list, and some need quests before you can reach them.

Two quirks are worth knowing. The game counts Icy Peak Entrance as an Icy Peak location, but its mailbox actually stands in Gemstone Mountain. Some stops are tied to story progress too: the Heart of the Island area opens during the "Friendship Never Fades" quest series and Cinnamoroll sets up its mailbox in "Straight to Your Heart", Blizzard Peak after "Mountain Hopes", Snow Village and False Peak after "Mind the Gap", and Moon Base after "This Tall to Ride".

06

Using the in-game Map app

The Map app shows the whole island and gives you fast travel from the button in its top left. You can place markers on any spot that isn't a fast travel point, choosing from 20 shapes, and markers also show on your mini-map. A Region button jumps the view from region to region, and you can zoom in and out.

The filters are the most useful part. You can switch on Characters to see where each resident is standing, and Gifts adds a red dot to anyone who can still receive gifts today. Other filters show flower patches, cooking and crafting stations, the cabins you've unlocked in each region, and where Island Visitors are.

07

Mailboxes, collectibles and getting around

Don't mix up fast travel mailboxes with the Mailboxes added in Welcome Home. After the "Welcome Home" quest, a Mailbox replaces the Collection Box at your Home. You use it to collect materials and Cornerstones, order decor and customize your Home. Character Mailboxes unlock with the "Gifts Galore" quest. Each one needs that friend's Character Home, at least Close Friends status and 3 Cornerstones. Gifts you leave inside are delivered at the next daily reset, as long as that friend hasn't already hit the daily gift limit.

Smaller collectibles are spread across the map too. Sand Dollars turn up on the beaches of Home Island, Moon Island and the Hopscotch Islands, and Sparkles keep respawning around Seaside Resort, Spooky Swamp, Rainbow Reef, Gemstone Mountain and Mount Hothead while you play.

For getting around without mailboxes, "A Zipline Adventure" (Pochacco, friendship level 4) lets you repair ziplines with Sparks. The wiki lists four routes: Seaside Resort to Spooky Swamp (1 Spark), Spooky Swamp to Gemstone Mountain (2), Gemstone Mountain to Mount Hothead (3), and one in Merry Meadow (2). On Cloud Island you travel between islands on Cloud Rides, which unlock through quests, because the island sides can't be climbed. On Icy Peak, strong gusts empty your stamina while you climb until you repair the Arctifier on Blizzard Peak. In Merry Meadow, Giant Seeds watered for 3 days grow into beanstalks, and the final one reaches the Outer Cloud Cabin on Cloud Island.

08

What changed with the Welcome Home update

Welcome Home reshaped the start of the map. The wiki says the area of Seaside Resort once known as the Cozy Islands was reworked into Home Island, which is now a fast travel point. It sits north of Resort Plaza across a bridge that you repair during the "Building Bridges" quest (formerly called "Furnishing for Friends"), a step of "Power Up the Gate" that also leads you to the last Yellow Power Crystal.

Home Island holds Visitor Cabins #7 and #8 and a plot on its northern half where you build your Player Home. Your Home can't be moved once it's built. The Visitor Island Chase Challenge Course starts on Home Island, east of Resort Cabin #8. The wiki also notes that My Melody now helps you make a Home before she gives you a Cabin. Sunblink's Welcome Home announcement on Steam lists the full feature set, and the homes guide has more on Player Homes and Character Homes.
