Hello Kitty Island Adventure recipes are cooked at stations around Friendship Island, and they all follow one pattern: the station's base ingredient plus one or two extra ingredients. Flour plus an Apple in Hello Kitty's Oven gives you Mama's Apple Pie, and a Fizzy Crystal plus Tofu in the Soda Machine gives you Joke Soda. At most stations you don't need the recipe card first, because cooking a matching combination for the first time can teach it to you. Below you'll find every cooking station, how to unlock and upgrade it, where base ingredients come from, and exact ingredients for the most useful dishes.
This guide reflects the official wiki and official announcements as of October 16, 2026, after the free Welcome Home update (version 3.0, released October 8, 2026) and during the 2026 Spooky Celebration, also called Month of Mischief. Some stations come from paid DLC on Switch, Steam and PlayStation, and new content often reaches Apple Arcade first, so details can differ by platform and version.

How cooking works
Most Hello Kitty Island Adventure cooking recipes use one fixed base ingredient per station. When you first unlock a station you can add one extra ingredient, and after the station's upgrade you can add a second one, which opens up the fancier dishes. The wiki is clear that only two additional ingredients can ever be used, so when a dish lists several options, those are alternative versions of the same recipe, not a longer shopping list. If your combination doesn't match anything, you get the station's basic dish instead, such as plain Pizza from Dough plus a non-matching ingredient.
HKIA recipes come from several places:
- Treasure Chests and Radiant Chests, such as the Vanilla Shake recipe in a Treasure Chest on top of Icy Peak.
- Gift Flowers, for example the Strawberry Almond Galette recipe from watering a Gift Flower in Seaside Resort.
- Friendship levels with Island Residents, like the Chocolate Chai recipe at friendship level 14 with Hangyodon.
- Cooking a dish for the first time, which can award its card at every station except the Chef's Station.
Recipes are not the same as Crafting Plans (Crafting Bench), Instructions (Creation Station) or Construction Plans (Drafting Table). In multiplayer you can gift a recipe to a friend without losing it yourself, although Chef's Station recipes can't be gifted.
Bring Hello Kitty when you cook
Hello Kitty's Sous Chef companion ability unlocks at friendship level 2 and gives you a chance at an extra food item each time you cook. The wiki lists that chance as 25% at level 2, 50% at level 5, 75% at level 13 and 100% at level 21. It works at the nine Friendship Island stations, but not at the Chef's Station, Teapot Station or Tray Station.

The wiki also lists a second Soda Machine inside Badtz-maru's Arcade in City Town, unlocked during "Talk of the Town". Per the wiki, City Town and Tea Garden are paid DLC on Switch, Steam and PlayStation and included with Apple Arcade; the DLC guide has the details.
Later you can place working copies of stations in your Visitor Cabins. The Oven crafting plans arrive at friendship level 20 with Hello Kitty and the Soda Machine plans at friendship level 12 with Pekkle. Some Island Visitors need one, too: Mary White wants an Oven, Migi a Soda Machine and Manaka an Espresso Machine, as covered in the visitors guide.

Where base ingredients come from
You'll burn through base ingredients quickly, so set up a steady supply:
- Flour: My Melody's return gift, plus 1 Flour on the counter next to the Oven each day.
- Candlenut, Dough, Chips and Candy Cloud: return gifts from Hangyodon, Retsuko, Moppu and Cinnamoroll, in that order.
- Glow Berries: the southern half of Spooky Swamp, mostly Lilypad Lagoon, with 7 per day.
- Cactus Cream: the Cactus Garden south of the Oasis fast-travel point, with 12 per day.
- Eggs: the Rockadoodler Roundup mini-game at the Gemstone Corral.
- Fizzy Crystals: crafted from 6 Fizzy Ore, with the plans coming during "Dessert-ed Boat".
Gift residents every day. Most map materials pile up for up to three days if you skip them, but missed gifting opportunities don't, so daily gifts are the only way to keep return-gift ingredients flowing.

You drink potions from the Toolbox tab of your inventory. The Deep Diving Potion (Glow Berry + Sugarkelp), Speedy Walking Potion (Glow Berry + Tofu) and Thermal Potion (Glow Berry + Magma Bloom) round out the basic set. If you own Wheatflour Wonderland, Cogimyun later unlocks "magical" versions that add one Stained Glass and last twice as long.

Best recipes to cook as gifts
Food is one of the easiest ways to match a resident's liked tags. Each resident has a single 3-heart gift that matches all three of their liked tags, and for many of them it's a dish. Every recipe below uses two extra ingredients, so you need the upgraded station.

Several of these recipe cards are friendship rewards: Red Bow Apple Pie at Hello Kitty friendship 22, Ultimate Joke Pizza at Retsuko friendship 13, Pink Clouds Ice Cream at Lala friendship 3 and Mama's Pudding at Kiki friendship 4. Each resident accepts up to 3 gifts per day, and Hello Kitty's Everyone's Friend ability (friendship 12) adds 10% friendship from gifts while she's with you. Event and birthday recipes
Each resident's birthday celebration has its own Decorating Kit ingredient, and that resident's birthday cake is Flour plus the kit in the Oven. Right now that matters for Kuromi. As part of the 2026 Month of Mischief, which runs from September 24 to October 31, 2026, Kuromi's Decorating Kit can be collected all October. You have a random chance of getting one whenever you pick up a Pumpkin, Glow Berry, Swampmallow or Spinip in Spooky Swamp.
Her kit works at most stations. A few examples from the wiki's recipe data:
- Kuromi's Birthday Cake: Flour + Kuromi's Decorating Kit (Oven).
- Kuromi Cake: Flour + Kuromi's Decorating Kit + Sakura (Oven).
- Kuromi Soda: Fizzy Crystal + Kuromi's Decorating Kit (Soda Machine).
- Kuromi Krepe: Egg + Flour + Kuromi's Decorating Kit (Egg Pan Station).
The first time you gift Kuromi her birthday cake during the celebration, she has special birthday dialogue. The Kuromi guide covers the rest of her event.
The Month of Mischief also brought new recipes that need no event ingredients and stay after the event ends. At the Oven you get Glow Berry Pie (Flour + Glow Berry), Churros (Flour + Sugarkelp + Cinna Bloom) and Pumpkin Bread (Flour + Pumpkin + Cinna Bloom). Elsewhere there's Mushroom Coffee (Candlenut + Mushroom), Glowy Cloud (Candy Cloud + Glow Berry) and Glow Slushy (Chips + Snowcicle + Glow Berry). Past events used their own ingredients, such as Jam Jars for Jam Jamboree treats, so those dishes can only be cooked while you still have the items.

Tips for completing your recipe collection
The Recipes collection is the closest thing to a Hello Kitty Island Adventure all recipes checklist, and it has a catch: every variation counts separately. Fruit Tart alone has five versions (Flour + Egg + Apple, Banana, Pineapple, Starfruit or Strawberry), and each one must be cooked at least once. If a station's list still shows gaps after that, the missing entries may be event or birthday recipes.
A few more habits that help:
- Cook in batches with Hello Kitty along, since Sous Chef can double your output.
- Keep spare dishes for fishing. Every fish has a preferred bait, and many are cooked foods, like Joke Soda for the Masked Wrassler and Red Bow Apple Pie for the Coastal Clamfish. The fishing guide lists more.
- Check each station's event section before an event ends, because its special ingredients can only be collected while it runs.
