The latest Hello Kitty Island Adventure update is Welcome Home, version 3.0, a free major update that released on Apple Arcade, Nintendo Switch, PC (Steam) and PlayStation 5 on October 8, 2026. It adds a Player Home on Home Island, Character Homes for Sanrio friends, Pocket Rooms, Mailboxes and Cornerstones, a mysterious new character named Marroncream and a large set of decorating tools for cabins. The Days of Plenty event and a one-time Welcome Home Celebration login calendar started the same day.
This page reflects official announcements and the official wiki as of October 16, 2026. By then Apple's App Store listing showed version 3.0.1, but the wiki had not posted notes for it yet, and we could not confirm whether that patch has reached other platforms. Dates and content can differ by platform, region and patch.

What the Hello Kitty Island Adventure Welcome Home update added
Sunblink calls Welcome Home its biggest free major update so far. The official Steam announcement and the App Store notes list these features:
- Player Home: your own house on Home Island to customize and upgrade.
- Character Homes: homes for Sanrio friends around the island, tied to a new island mystery.
- Pocket Rooms: extra rooms reached through doors, stairs and spiral staircases, in your Home or cabins.
- Mailboxes: collect gifts from friends and Cornerstones, or drop gifts into Character Mailboxes so friends receive them later.
- Floorplans, Layouts and Kits: bigger room shapes, plus saving and sharing cabin designs.
- Creative Mode Room and Floors and Walls Customization.
- Rocky Rail Ride, a return to the Crystal Caves with Pompompurin and Chococat, plus new Visitors.
The wiki notes that the update reshaped early gameplay, too. The area once called the Cozy Islands became Home Island, and My Melody now helps you get a Home before she gives you a cabin. In 3.0 you can build homes for Hello Kitty, My Melody, Tuxedosam, Badtz-maru, Chococat, Pochacco, Keroppi, Kuromi, Cinnamoroll, Hangyodon, Pompompurin and Pekkle, plus Cogimyun and Usahana with their DLC. The rest are planned for version 3.1 on Apple Arcade or the next Content Update elsewhere. The step-by-step house walkthrough is in the homes guide.
Marroncream
Marroncream is the "mysterious new friend" from the patch notes. You meet her during the "Welcome Home" quest and keep running into her as you finish Character Homes, and she hands out Pocket Room Doorknobs and Spun Lace along the way. The wiki describes her as fashionable and soft-spoken, often switching between French and English, with a May 31 birthday. For now it classifies her as a special character and says it is unknown whether she will become one of your Friends, and it lists no gift likes for her yet.
Creative Mode and cabin decorating changes
Creative Mode lives at the Creativity Kiosk in Seaside Resort, near the Resort Gate, and unlocks after the "Tag Team Terminal" quest. Inside this virtual room you can use items and furniture whether or not you have unlocked them, in unlimited amounts, with every Floorplan available. The usual 200-item room limit still applies.
Several other decorating changes came with the Welcome Home rollout: rugs fully separated from flooring, downsizing cabins with a refund of Strawberry Crates, lying down on beds, and customizing select floors and wallpapers. Layouts and Kits let you save a cabin design and move it to another cabin or share it with other players.

Welcome Home Celebration daily rewards
The Welcome Home Celebration is a one-time Daily Rewards calendar running from October 8 to October 21, 2026. It has no event stand or currency; you simply log in each day. Its items join the regular game Collections rather than event-only ones. The wiki has documented the first seven rewards so far:
| Day | Date | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Oct 8 | Basics Kit |
| 2 | Oct 9 | Cinnamoroll Rug |
| 3 | Oct 10 | Pompompurin Rug |
| 4 | Oct 11 | Kuromi Rug |
| 5 | Oct 12 | Badtz-maru Rug |
| 6 | Oct 13 | My Melody Rug |
| 7 | Oct 14 | Keroppi Rug |
The calendar disappears at the end of October 21, so claim what you can before then.

How updates roll out on Apple Arcade, Switch, PC and PlayStation
New content usually lands on Apple Arcade first, where the game originally launched. The wiki's Updates page says a new Apple Arcade version arrives roughly every six weeks, often near the start of an event, and usually brings at least one new main quest, a related feature and at least one new Island Visitor.
Switch, PC and PlayStation get that content later through numbered Content Updates (CU). In a May 2025 Discord FAQ, Sunblink said it aimed to keep Switch and PC about one to three updates, or roughly 6 to 18 weeks, behind Apple Arcade, with Switch and PC likely about two weeks apart. In practice, the wiki notes that major updates usually reach Switch, PC and PlayStation on the same day, while Switch bug patches can trail by two weeks or more because of Nintendo's approval process. Patches are easiest to push quickly on PC.
Welcome Home was split differently. Apple Arcade previewed parts of it in version 2.18 (August 6, 2026: Creative Mode, Layouts, Kits, Floorplans) and 2.19 (September 16, 2026: cabin downsizing, beds, floor and wall customizing). Then 3.0 shipped on every platform on the same day, so this HKIA new update did not leave any platform waiting. If you play the Switch version, the wiki flags a known 3.0 visual bug where the Days of Plenty stand shows the previous year's look; it does not stop you from buying items.
Paid expansions follow their own schedule. Apple Arcade receives them as free updates, while the April 2026 roadmap said major paid updates will no longer be staggered across platforms. The DLC guide covers the paid expansions, and the platforms guide covers where you can play. Prices can change by region and sale, so check your store before buying.

October 2026 events and what's next
Several Hello Kitty Island Adventure events in 2026 overlap this month:
| Event | 2026 dates | Type | How to take part |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spooky Celebration (Kuromi's Month of Mischief) | Sept 24 to Oct 31 | Primary | Trick-or-treat at night wearing a Spooky or costume item to earn Spooky Treats |
| Days of Plenty | Oct 8 to Oct 23 | Secondary | Run through Leaf Piles in Seaside Resort to collect Leaves |
| Welcome Home Celebration | Oct 8 to Oct 21 | Daily calendar | Log in for daily rewards |
| Kuromi's Birthday Celebration | Decorating Kits all October; end date unconfirmed | Birthday | Collect Kuromi's Decorating Kit and play "Queen of Halloween" |
During the Spooky Celebration you can earn up to 13 Spooky Treats a day, or 14 if you own the Wheatflour Wonderland or City Town DLC. Nine come from trick-or-treating with your first three residents each day (three each), and four come from finishing all the Daily Quests. Spend them at the event stand in the Resort Plaza.
Days of Plenty has a crafty theme this year, with My Melody and My Sweet Piano leading a DIY session. Five Leaf Piles appear each day and give three Leaves each, for 15 per day; Daily Quests no longer give currency during secondary events. Trade Leaves at the Days of Plenty Event Stand for current and past clothing and furniture.
Kuromi's birthday is October 31. In 2026 you can collect Kuromi's Decorating Kit for the whole of October as part of the Month of Mischief, but the wiki says her "Queen of Halloween" birthday quest is not available the entire month. For more on her, see the Kuromi guide. Hello Kitty's birthday is November 1; her 2026 celebration dates are not posted yet (in 2025 it ran October 30 to November 12).
Later in 2026, the wiki lists Interlude of Dreams, the Give & Gather Celebration and Lighttime Jubilee with unconfirmed dates. In 2025 they started on October 19, November 20 and December 18. All events return every year, and earlier years' rewards come back alongside the new ones.
